​90-Day Health Guarantee - All hedgehogs are guaranteed for 90 days and to be free from any know health issues from our own personal knowledge at the time of purchase. If for some reason your hedgehog has passed away due to a hereditary problem or birth defect, we will replace it with the next available hedgehog at no charge. However, no refund will be given and a proof of a necropsy from a certified veterinarian of our choice must be provided.

 

​Lifetime Warranty Against WHS - All of our hedgehogs sold (excluding rescues)  will come with a lifetime warranty against Wobbly Hedgehog Syndrome (WHS). If your hedgehog should develop WHS, with a proof of a necropsy from a certified veterinarian of our choice, we will replace the hedgehog with the next available one at no charge. No cash refunds.

 

​Refund Policy -If you feel you don't provide a good enough home for your hedgehog or if you are unsatisfied with your hedgehog, we do have a refund policy, ensuring your hedgehog is healthy before we take them back.

• 1-14 days after purchase and receive 50% of what you paid
• 15-30 days after purchase and receive 25% of what you paid

After 30 days from purchase, there will be no refund, however, we do encourage people to return their hedgehog back to us to ensure the hedgehog gets placed in a safe home by us.
 

If you decide to resell your hedgehog it is recommended you do not give them away for free and to make sure the other person has full knowledge of a hedgehog's needs to eliminate people who don't know how to properly take care of hedgehogs.



If you resell your hedgehog to a third party, guarantees, policies and contract becomes void and don't get passed on to the new owner.

 

​Breeding Policy - There is no taking part in the breeding of any Happy Hedgies' hedgehogs, without our consent and/or knowledge of you doing so. By clicking the "Yes, I understand" button in our application you are agreeing to abide by these rules. Any failure to do so can be taken to a court of law. You must be a registered and qualified breeder we know and trust if you want to breed our hedgehogs. This is to ensure the safety of our animals when it comes to breeding and this is not to be taken lightly.



​Deposit Policy - We require a $25 non-refundable deposit to hold the hedgehog of your choice. This is to ensure there are serious inquires only. The $25 deposit is not refundable, however, if you wish to change your mind, you may use that same deposit to reserve a different hedgehog. Your deposit can be paid by Cash or PayPal only.

Shipping Policy - We do ship on occasion to all provinces across Canada using West Jet. Shipping to the states is not available.

Our shipping fees:
- $130 for shipping within B.C.
- $180 for all other provinces in Canada.

These fees includes: flight, travel safe carrier, gas to drive to the airport and fees to arrange the flight.



We can personally deliver your hedgehog to you if you can not arrange to pick them up yourself. We will deliver anywhere within' a 350km range from Abbotsford, BC for a gas and delivery fee of $0.25 per km (to and from your location) We also can drive to the Tsawwassen and Horseshoe Bay ferry docks for people from Vancouver Island.



​**Please Note: Due to cold climate weather conditions and for the safety of our hedgehogs, we DO NOT ship our hedgehogs between the months of November-April. Sorry for any inconvenience**



​Our guarantees and policies do not cover any vet bills or medical costs that may have accumulated over time, nor does it cover the loss due to neglect, accidents, abuse or any treatable illness. It is your responsibility to ensure your hedgehog's safety at all times

​APPLICATION FORM - Please fill out our online hedgehog application to be put on the waiting list for the next available hedgehog. We will notify the waiting list when its time to pick out a hedgehog and place a non-refundable $25 deposit. It's first come first serve. We have the right to deny anyone a hedgehog if we feel that they do not provide a suitable home.

WAITING LIST - Once your application is accepted, you will be put on our waiting list available under "Available Babies." We will notify you by e-mail to let you pick out your hedgehog baby and place your non-refundable $25 deposit. You will then have 5 days to get back to us before we remove you from the waiting list. Once you are off the waiting list, you will have to submit another application. Please remember to check your "Junk Mail" if you haven't heard back from us after 2 days from submitting our online application.

Q: Why are hedgehogs so expensive?

A: Hedgehogs are exotic animals and not very reliable breeders.  You can't tell if a female becomes pregnant when placed with a male.

After a breeding, you must wait the gestation period of 34-45 days before you know if the breeding was successful. That's almost 2 months of waiting! Therefore a lot of time you could have tried again, only if you knew the breeding was successful or not.

Even if the breeding was successful, doesn't mean all the babies will survive the 6-8 week weaning process. They can have accidents like cannibalism, neglect, death and other complications. Also, females can only be bred 2-3 times per year.

Hedgehogs can also be expensive because of where the breeder got them from. Breeders supply other breeders with their own hedgehogs to widen their gene pool, so there isn't any in-breeding and less likely there will be any genetic problems.

Some breeders spend over $1000 shipping hedgehogs from the USA or other parts of Canada. So, please take all of that inconsideration when looking at prices of hedgehogs from hedgehog breeders.
